Pop!

Check out the hair! That green thing is a burst balloon - the force of the burst did that to her hair :-D. She looked absolutely dumbfounded when it happened but just said 'Oh!' and within two minutes there she is biting the remains of the balloon! (Teething again?!)

'planespotting

Not my own pictures today!

It's a local holiday here so Thing One wasn't at school - he and C went off to the airport to watch the 'planes take-off and land. I was at work so missed it, but let them have my camera (yes, mine dammit..). It looked like fun!

Rescuing robins

When I got to work this morning I found this little fella stunned in front of the big windows. I took him round to where it was sunny in the hope that the warmth would perk him up a bit. He sat there for about 20 minutes before finally flying away.

My little Baggins

He was in the middle of pretending something - managed to get a picture in a very brief pause, in all the others he's talking! And to think he was once such a quiet little boy...

A busy day

Just not one with many photo opportunities. So tonight's picture is...

And just because I love this picture, here's another from yesterday!

Sssh

It was mid-afternoon, she'd just woken from her nap and was 'reading' Goodnight Moon - she always does this when she gets to '..and goodnight to the old lady whispering hush'.

An hour or so later, having met Boy out of school ('Boy! Boy! Goggie!' - goggie means 'cuddle') - the day had started out dreich but by mid-afternoon it was lovely. I love autumn!

Mm. Nice.

Hurray, the return of the meme! A good drying day :-).

And me fuchsias. Not that I can take any credit, they do the whole 'growing' thing quite well without any help from me!

Follow the yellow-brick road

This is the view out the back of my workplace. I seem to have a smudge on my lens...

It's a plant

I love this tree!
It was a gorgeous day today - warm, hazy, just nice..

In which Miss M and I discover the 'sepia' setting

Does wonders for the complexion - mine anyway, hers is perfect already.

By way of a change

As so many of my pics have been of the natural world, here's the unnatural world - the back end of a tractor. Is it any wonder my fingernails are always mucky?

In a supermarket carpark

Wet. Wet wet wet wet wet. Wettety-wet.

Autumn I suppose

A very quiet morning at the farm so I had some time to go round and take pictures of whatever caught my eye - as a result I'm spoiled for choice today. I've gone for this one because it's representative of the weather and the season but is bright despite that!

Green

And also a bit of art by the Boy..

Silk

Taken on a whim 'cos the textures caught my eye. This is recycled sari silk yarn, which I haven't decided what do with yet.

Get out the spirit-level!

Perfect fringe!

Miss Mouse had her first 'proper' (i.e. hairdresser) haircut today - this is the immediate aftermath. She has a mouth full of 'bitsit', which was her reward for being quite outstandingly well-behaved while her hair was being cut. I asked her to smile for the camera and she obligingly smirked :-D.

Windows

Just not of the Microsoft variety!
This picture was taken through a closed window, hence a couple of odd reflections. Quite pleased with it though!

Boldly..

..having a geeky evening.

Weather happens

Quite a lot in fact.

There's something blocking the road

Something that's reluctant to mooooo-ve. (Sorry, had to!)

Not very sure

The Boy was already asleep when I took this and I wasn't around when he drew it, so I'm not certain what it is (might be a 'plane or might be the space shuttle) but it appeals to me!

In which I cheat again

As this picture was taken on Friday.

The council had been out cutting the grass again*. As the soil is squelchy squerchy clay with poor drainage the ground is often (almost always in fact, given the climate) very soft. Which leads me to wonder - which is more unsightly, long grass or the weird patterns churned up by the mowers?

* for those who don't know, I live in a New Town, not unlike Milton Keynes in its love of roundabouts and odd sculpture, but predating MK. So an old New Town really! The point, eventually, being that there are fairly large open green spaces for the public to 'enjoy' and the council to keep in order..

In Fuzzy-Re-enactor-O-Vision

Which is what we call it when re-enactors are used as a bit of footage in a documentary about a battle. And the producers get fuzzy effects put on the footage, partly to cover up that they're using seven blokes and a 'boy' (who's just a little too busty to be entirely convincing) to portray the Battle of Hastings.
Anyway.. this was this morning's 'school run'. More of a school saunter really - pleasant morning.

Uncle Hopalong's Diner

Naturally the kitchen floor is the perfect place for an impromptu picnic of chocolate digestives and water!

Ah to hell with it, I'm going to put another picture in - it was such a glorious morning (most of the day in fact) that I feel I have to have photographic evidence of it!

Mug-shot

Hohoho!

This is my favourite mug. I think I may be a very boring person...

Dull for non-knitters

But yay! I'm so pleased with the way this scarf is going!
