Willow harvest

Oh my legs.

I spent a few hours helping out at the willow harvest at Kittochside. The weather was pleasantly mild and the company was good so I had a great time (and came home with some willow to plant), but this evening I can really feel the ache in my legs!

Washing the car

Despite a waterproof coat, trousers, wellie boots and an umbrella, Miss Mouse somehow managed to come back in looking like a drowned rat. Or at least one that's been swimming.

Nodding off

Watching Mythbusters of an evening with Hester nodding off on my legs. Bliss.

Uber-mummying for the masses

Miss Mouse and I made chocolate-chip cookies - delicious, abundant cookieness, filling the house with sublime baking smells.

Yeah, we made it from a packet.

Baking and the Boy

What could he be doing?

Well, due to the influence of this week's reading book, the Boy is making Cheese Stars.

The End Result:

They look quite nice but actually the Boy wasn't that keen and, as I'm not much of a cheesey person, neither was I. However we did have a lot of fun making them, and I should imagine that the birds will be grateful if we give them some tomorrow.

Quack

We went on a trip to feed the ducks after school. The loch is still partially frozen, so looks very bleak when the sun's not out but today it was bright and clear.

We didn't have much bread with us but these ducks know this loch is a good place to find gullible humans. As a result they're well-fed.

I like this one - they looked rather sociable swimming towards each other but actually they kept to their trajectories and ended up swimming in opposite directions.

Cold enough?

Don't blink

Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't Blink.
