Happy second birthday cats!

As an extra-special treat they got tinned tuna for dinner. They love that with a passion!

The Heavy Horse Show

The kids and I were at the Heavy Horse Show at Kittochside, while MrBorg went off on a motorbike trip. This was just as the heavens opened. And boy did they open! We all had raincoats on but they all ended up soaked through.

Peace reigns..

.. in the little village we know so well. Oh no, that's Asterix, isn't it? Well, peace reigned here too. The kids went out with my Beloved to get a birthday present for their cousin (and ended up at Pollok Park for the third time in three days) so I had the house to myself. Bliss.

Apart from hoovering, potting up some achillea and doing a load or two of laundry, I also had time for a bit of this:

and this:

Aaaaaah.

Pollok Park revisited

Yes, we were back again for an early trip to the playpark (i.e. before it got mobbed) followed by a visit to the Burrell Collection (more of which on my other blog) and some ice-cream. Though the sky was very heavy and thundery-looking, it came to nothing more than a light shower.

Pollok Park again

This time we took Uncle Skipalong (formerly Hopalong) as he had the day off. We had a picnic. Miss Mouse just asked turned to me and said 'Mama, where did we have lunch?' . 'We had the picnic, remember?' I replied. 'No.' 'At Pollok Park?' 'No.' Showed her the photos.. 'Oh yeah, I forgot.' Attention span of a goldfsh, that one.

We went for a wander and met the Pollok Park cat again. Very friendly little cat.

There was much running around and hiding. Can you see her? If not, click on the picture to enlarge!

And again!

I know it doesn't look all that sunny in the picture but believe me it was!

At the park.

Out with their cousins - and about a squillion other kids! A beautiful morning so the playpark was busy.

Apparently it's fascinating.

tatties

Growing nicely. Actually I had a lovely day out with the kids, but couldn't find my camera (turned out it was in a pocket of my bag all along) so no pictures of that.

blue birthday yarn

A birthday present from the knitting girls, now wound into a ball ready for knitting. And yes, it is as soft as it looks!

yellow flowers

I went for a walk with the kids this afternoon and we found loads of these yellow flowers - as ever I haven't a clue but we thought they looked nice. The sky got blacker and blacker while we were out and it poured with rain just after we got home.

editty editty - Dad says it's yellow loosestrife! And Google says you can dye with yellow loosestrife. Hmmm :-).

Granny's genes

My first dahlia in flower. Of course Granny wouldn't have got dahlias as plug-plants in Morrison's *blush* but it's the best I can do just now!

firework paper

The kids were out with my mother-in-law and came back with various bits in pieces in this bag - the pattern reminded me, appropriately enough, of once upon a time, a long time ago when I was in El Toro, California on the 4th of July.
