Frilly plant season

I love frilly plant season.

Apologies

For yet another kid's drawing, but this is M's very first cat picture (it's of Hester).

Armadillo

Taken as my friend and I went to see Hairspray at the Armadillo (or Clyde Auditorium). We had dinner at Yen first (picture taken from their car-park) - lovely food and friendly staff in there!

Alien Invasion

Though apparently it's all weather-dependent.

And a flower for good measure.

Portrait of Mama

There I am - smiley, aren't I?

Sunday, 25 April 2010

Wheee!

More overcast today (we had the odd heavy shower later which was a bit weird - it's been so dry recently) but good enough for fun at the park.

Such a perfect day

Miss Mouse helping Daddy with motorbike stuff.

It was so bright I couldn't actually see either the screen or through the viewfinder, hence the out-of-focusness of this one. A bit frustrating but oh wow, blossom stuff is so gorgeous. I'm still taken aback at how lovely it is every spring.

Miss Mouse somewhat oil-smeared while the Boy is slightly pink from running round in the sunshine.
And finally, the comedy cat photo. We're easily amused by our cats, but particularly by the way Toby hangs onto the door.

smiles

That's all really :-).

Umbrella-handle tail

Weird little cat.

happy as a cat in sunshine

Checking for the dog over the back.

And a blue sky free of aeroplanes due to the volcano god.

A patch of sunlight

Technically a patch of shade with the poetic dappled sunlight. Nice day, cats v. happy.

It's a flower

A knitted one. But perhaps you guessed that?

Fairy princess

Miss Mouse found an old dress and decided to wear it - it's really too small (12-18 months?) but she loves the frothy layers so she squeezed into it and pranced around happily. She's such a girlie girl at times.

And I completely forgot to tell her Granny and Grandpa that the kids loved their Easter chocolate lollies :-). Thank you!

Green things are happenin'

The Boy and I planted some sunflower seeds which germinated with great celerity. The kitchen window is clearly a good place to be. If you're a seed.

Windy Miller eat your heart out

MrBorg (dark blob at the bottom of the picture, with two even smaller kid-shaped blobs) had the day off today so we took the kids to Whitelee Wind Farm. We can see some of the turbines from the Boy's bedroom and the visitor centre opened a while back but we'd never been before. There's a weird loss of scale looking at the turbines even quite close to. And then suddenly you're standing at the bottom of one and it's enormous.

MrBorg and the Boy went back to the visitor centre to play with the interactive exhibits while Miss Mouse and I wandered along a bit to take some more photos.

Naturally when you're in the middle of a surreal science-fiction landscape your three-year-old points out the pile of poo as an item of interest.

This is my arty-farty juxtaposition picture - I'm quite pleased with it.

The first of our daffodils

Unfortunately the stem got a bit trampled during the Great Pruning of Anonymous Spiky Plants so I had to cut it rather than let it brighten up the garden. But there will be more. I hope. I'm sure there are loads of bulbs planted in the garden. Just not sure where.

Birds on my Feet!

My perskipacious perspicacious brother has pointed out the Shoes of Great Fabulousness have a rather groovy bird pattern on the soles. As if I didn't love these shoes enough already!

A gorgeous day

In which the kids were elsewhere for much of the day, so I spent a pleasantly substantial amount of time sitting outside in the sunshine knitting, drinking coffee, reading, and getting, oh dear, sunburnt just a little bit.

Look at the sky!

Look at the Shoes of Great Fabulousness glinting in the sun!

Sunday, 11 April 2010

Nice. Just nice.

More daffs on my kitchen windowsill. Another 99p well spent.

Saturday, 10 April 2010

A bright day

The kids were in and out of the house all day..

.. enjoying the blue sky.

Modes of Transport

The kids at the museum.

And MrBorg's new bike! I'll rephrase that - 'kid with a new toy'.

Thursday, 8 April 2010

Yellow

Very. A 99p bunch of daffs from Sainsbury = spring in my kitchen.

Somewhere over the Rainbow..

My new shoes of great fabulousness - happiness!

Monday, 5 April 2010

Family

That's the cat's spot really, but the Boy likes to recline up there and advise MrBorg on gaming.

In other news we went to meet the kids' new little cousin - look, widdle paws etc. She's very sweet and teeny-tiny but oh boy am I glad I'm not doing all that again!

Easter bunnies

The kids made masks at the Easter event at the museum.

Cat + laserpointer =

tears. of. laughter.

Friday, 2 April 2010

bunnies, chicks, eggs etc

Yes, it's Easter craft time with the Boy. He made this 'basket' (paper plate, tissue paper, pipecleaner, lots of stickers) and put mini-eggs in it. Good innit?

I hadn't realised how many stickers were in the pack - squillions! So I pimped the World's Most Garish mobile a bit in honour of the spring.

See! Squillions I tell you!

Stuff happening outside

Things for Hester to sniff.

Miss Mouse was entranced by the ladybird and sat watching it for ages as it crawled around her slide.
