Long Way Down.. the drive

"Day 23: encountered wheelie-bins and French cars. Didn't drop the bike."

Sunshine and Calvin

Han shot first, y'know.

Now that he's our Household Six-Year-Old, the Boy continues his transmogrification into Calvin, with Important Notices on the playhouse.

A close-up clarifies his instructions. Hmmm.

They deserve an award

This is at the wee party after their second-cousin's baptism - the service was an hour and a half long and they both behaved incredibly well. It's a loooong time for a kid to be quiet :-D.

Rippit rippit

A-frogging I will go. I got the join tangled and produced an inadvertent Moebius, so I frogged this and am starting again. I lost count of how many times I've cast this on now - I keep, well, losing count as I cast on and I find it very difficult to count stitches on a circ. This will be lovely eventually, honest. It's going to be a razor-shell cowl.

A Close Shave

And thus it came to pass that as Our Hero was tidying up his beard/shaving the sides, I, His Wife said, 'Go on then, shave it off'. Our Hero perceived this as a dare and proceeded to, well, shave off the beard, leaving him clean-shaven for the first time this decade, this century and indeed this millennium. Hmm. This is the result.
I'm working on him to grow it back 'cos I like the beard, but he says he'll give being clean-shaven a try for a few weeks. Probably sensible given the warm, muggy weather at the moment.

Yarn heaven

Yum. My friend Bee had decided she had too much yarn/not enough time to knit it all so was selling off some 'licious and luscious yarns. So I bought a hank of Blue Sky Alpacas alpaca silk with which to make something lovely for me. Dunno what yet but it'll be lovely when it's done :-D.

Can ya tell what it is yet?

Any guesses?

Inspired by a photo by Sarah Litvinoff, this is rain on my windscreen. I was parked by a hedge at the retail park.

Yay me!

The new card reader arrived and after a bit of swearing I've got my squillions of pictures, so a little updating will follow.

Time to go..

.. to get the Boy from school. Much delight as wellington boots were worn and there would be puddles in the school playground.

drip drip drip drip

I can't decide which way up is the 'right' way up for this picture. But anyway. I like drops of water!

Frustration

My card reader is defunct. I have about a squillion pictures on both cameras and I can't get them off the camera and onto the 'puter. The new camera does have a cable to do it directly but the computer doesn't seem to like it and it runs the camera battery down in no time which is a nuisance. So the frustration continues.

An inlaws' get-together

The kids' great-great-aunt and -uncle were up from the depths of Englandshire, so there was a big family get-together at my brother-in-law's house. It was a lovely day so much of the afternoon was spent in the garden.

This is Miss Mouse objecting to having slimey hands after having an ice-lolly.

The Boy and his cousin making 'bzzzhhhh-bzzhhh' noises.

I love this picture, even though it's a bit blurry - the Boy was so happy just running around, oblivious of anyone else.

FunDay

It was the Boy's school's Fun Day today.
Miss Mouse rode what she calls 'a pony-horse'. Apparently it was 'purple'. I think she's referring to the harness etc. My beloved took this picture as I was manning a stall.

'My' stall was the tuckshop - a nice day so we did a roaring trade in drinks! My two were among the first customers. I did take this picture.

New hairstyle for Miss Mouse

What blurb can I possibly put here? Well, we went to the hairdesser's, Miss Mouse sat very still, and now she looks ridiculously sweet :-D.
Scroll down to the 9th for a 'compare & contrast'!

Simple pleasures

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, Mum's homemade rhubarb jam.......

Engrossed

She looks such a little hippy in this picture. 'Scuse the disaster zone that is our living-room...

Dull yet shiny

Borne of evening-desparation, my washing-machine in action - the only photo I took today.

Gorgeous offspring

The Boy likes photography too - I'm so proud!

Miss Mouse had been having a makeover while at her friend's house - groovy science-fictiony hairstyle don't you think?

I haven't the foggiest

Apparently the only photos taken today were by my Beloved of his Beloved, i.e. the motorbike.

Anonymous plant

I used to know what it was - I've forgotten now. Nice to photograph though :-D.

Edit: my plant guru (i.e. Dad) reckons it's a clematis.

Rosey

My colleagues gave me the most gorgeous bunch of sunshiney flowers on my last day at work -this is one of the roses from it. Mmm, I can practically smell it.

Wednesday, 3 June 2009

Oooh pretty

The new oilcloth tablecloth I'd ordered arrived, so I had to do some tidying. And after 6 months lying on top of the tumble-dryer the pinboard finally went up - and I only blistered my finger a little bit screwing in the hooks..

Summertime, and the livin' is easy

It must be summer, she's wearing cropped trousers!

Bye-bye Bertie

I dropped in at the farm to say goodbye to Bertie who was heading off to his new home a few days later. Ungrateful sod was too busy grazing to come over and say goodbye to me though!
