On Eaglesham Fair day, wandering back up through the Orry after seeing the fair stuff - glorious weather. By the end of the day a number of people were to be seen wandering around looking more than a little scorched.
I wandered into the Boy's room and discovered a drawing on his white board - the whole thing is much bigger (there's a big modern passenger plane at the top of the picture) but I love this little bit because of the detail on the biplane. I'm proud of my boy :-D.
The pendant was made by my Dad who's just getting back into a bit of silverwork. Isn't it gorgeous? I love it! The background is the knitting needle roll that my beloved got for me.
Like Bilbo and Frodo, the Boy and I share a birthday. Evidence of my loot to follow tomorrow, but for today a few highlights of the birthday of our Household Six-Year-Old..
Thoroughly enjoying unwrapping his presents - spoiled rotten? The Boy? Nah..
The MacDonald team in the pits making a few adjustments - attaching the seat in fact!
I'll huff and I'll puff and blow these candles out..
The porch was a Disaster Zone (earthquake, tornado, alien landings, children..) so I tackled it - not great pictures because the porch is so small, but I'm very pleased with 'after':
On a quick trip to the shop this evening I noticed these delicious colours. On closer inspection the orange car was a rather flat lifeless orange (my least favourite colour) but seen at a distance and with the more golden car and the Morrisons sign in the background, it looked really citrussy and yummy.
The Boy and I went up to High Point after school again to photograph the sky.
Then went home and made 24 multi-coloured fairy cakes. I wish I'd thought to photograph my hands while they were still luridly stained by the food-colouring.
It was difficult to choose a picture for today because there loads of the kids playing together, but I don't have all that many of the Boy on his own these days as he's a bit shy of the camera now so I really have to use this one! Natural he ain't :-D.
Today was my cousin Janet's wedding. At a Quaker wedding everybody present signs the certificate. The Reading Quakers include children in this - those who can't write leave a thumbprint or, in the case of babies, a footprint - as Janet's nephew demonstrates :
Once upon a time my friend Bee told me about 'project 365' in which you take a photo a day for a year. I wasn't that disciplined about it and it took me one year and 3 months to reach Day 365, but it quickly became a habit of sorts and also a record of my year. So I've overrun but I continue with it anyway!
