Taken on the way to the knitting meet-up.

The Lavender Hill Mob

I dropped in at work to speak to my boss and coincidentally the new uniforms arrived. The lavender blouses/shirts seem a bit of an odd colour choice but actually it looks surpisingly good , at least on the one person who tried hers on - whether it'll look as good on the men remains to be seen though!

You ain't got a thing if you ain't got that zing

Zingy daffodil. Check out that blue sky! It was baltic in the shade though, a chilly wind.

Paperweight

The best kind of paperweight - the kind you can tinker with. Pipe'n'Slippers' midlife crisis continues.

An evening in with the Stig

He was adjusting the fit. Or something.

Dull even for knitters

The choice for photos today was 1) my knitting or 2) Monsieur Alky's motorcycle helmets (for he has several - okay, two). But as he used the helmets pic in his blog it'll have to be the knitting.

Towering Bin-ferno

Sorreeeeeee..
These are the new wheelie bins arriving - these are for the monthly glass collection. Until now we were part of a pilot scheme for glass collection - it was fortnightly and we had large bags to put the glass in. I think the wheelie bin will work out a bit better. Unstacking the bins, attaching wheels and distributing them seemed to be a job that required much SHOUTING of random things by the hi-vis-bedecked guys, but much respect to the driver of the lorry who, as this street is a cul de sac, had to reverse a very looong lorry up hill, round a tightish corner and avoiding parked cars. I was impressed. The kids enjoyed watching the whole process.

Introducing Lexie

I went over to see my friend today and meet her new dog, Lexie. Her old dog, Sophie (or Sofie?) , was just about the loveliest dog imaginable (and I'm not remotely a doggy person), and Lexie is a worthy successor - very sweet and gentle, and she had the very good taste to curl up on my lap and sleep for ages. If she'd purred I wouldn't have been all that surprised :-D.
Anyway I spent a truly relaxing few hours sitting nattering, drinking coffee and cooing over the pup - a very nice day indeed.

Yellowness enters my soul

I love daffodils - they're just so yellow. And I love the smell. It was a damp and windy day but the yellowness was intense.

Golden Girl

I know, I know, yet another coo picture but I've been trying for ages to get decent pics of the Highland coos and this is the one I'm happiest with so far. The problem is I'm only in the field with them when I'm driving the tractor, and I can only stop to take pictures when I haven't any passengers in the trailer! But this time she was obligingly close to the tractor track and the light was nice.

Another knitty thing

Despite a second day of gorgeous weather, my only photographs today were of my knitting...
I'm following the Rainy Day Scarf pattern for this one.

Stripey

Miss Mouse helped me wrap her friend's birthday present. I like the colours in this one - stripes are fun. It reminds me a figure drawing I did for Higher Art where the model was wearing a stripy shirt. I seem to remember doing another drawing of a stripy shirt all crumpled up, with the stripes becoming quite abstract.

Looking oddly autumnal

I went out for a wander today as the weather was nice. I liked the textures and colours of these dead/dormant/whatever plants, though it doesn't look very springlike :-).

Spring has Sprung

Apologies for yet another coo, but she's very sweet.

Thursday, 12 March 2009

Oooh arty

We arrived a bit early at soft-play so amused ourselves taking photos. Then we discovered that one of my friends had also arrived early and was sitting in the soft-play on her own (apart from the company of her son) - d'oh..

A couple of Midwich Cuckoos

Awww, etc. But if I start acting strangely you know it's their weird mind-control powers, right?

Coooold, so cooooold

Cold but bright and sunny, so I went for a walk.

Chilly

This is shortly after it started snowing - I was coming back from the knitting group. I'd parked outside Hopalong's flat about a ten-minute walk the night's knitting venue. By the time I got back to his flat I looked like snowman.

The second pic was going to be my picture for the day but I realised that technically it's the wrong day as I got home at 13 mins past midnight.
Good lord, is that boring or what...

Witty knitty

I couldn't think of even a remotely witty title for this one! It's a hat. I just finished it. My only photos for today were pictures of the hat for the purpose of uploading to Ravelry.
